As he paints his bright and textural works, Terry Kindley opens a window into the subconscious, exploring the emotional geometry of the natural world in a rhythmically dynamic dance of color. Inspired by the Abstract Expressionist movement, Kindley finds freedom in the process of his art, discovering a visual dialog that is at once universal and based in his personal experience and observations. Through his art Kindley delves into the organic forms of the landscape, transforming and distilling the recognizable into its pure energetic elements. The artist builds his paintings in mixed media on masonite board, working solely with his hands in a unique and highly tactile brushless technique. Over a span of eight to twelve weeks he continuously manipulates his mediums across his surfaces, pouring, dripping and applying pigments with his fingers.
Born in Thomasville, North Carolina where he currently lives on a horse ranch, Terry Kindley began his artistic career in painting, later moving on to develop a respected career in Commercial Art and Design within the home furnishings market as well.
