Press Release
Brazilian artist Rosane Bussmann, has said that the inspiration for her work comes from her spiritual life, and indeed these digital collages are clearly an aesthetic manifestation of personal ideals and hopes. Although they are certainly not portraits of material reality, they are by no means alien to our inner lives. These are images we see in our dreams - symbolic expressions of emotional longing. Her images are iconic in that they are primarily concerned with the universals of life - with human connection, the changes we all endure in life and with the struggle to find common ground with the rest of the world. These are timeless pursuits, and Rosane pursues them with an artist's passion.
From the first moments of her inspiration, to the final result of these quietly stirring images into which Rosane Bussmann has put her soul, in an experience of her work we feel her integrity and commitment. They speak directly to our hearts, and we respond in kind.
Artist Statement
With my background as a Graphic Designer, I would describe my work as a visual poetry. Most of the pieces I work with have a spiritual meaning. Usually, at first I visualize the complete project in my mind, and then I draw it in my notebook and think about how I am going to materialize the idea. Finding the best technique to suit the idea is like completing a puzzle - there are so many things to consider.
In broad terms, I would say that the main concept in my artwork is designed to send a message of life to the spectator, who will be able to interpret it in accordance with his own experience of life. The messages are usually related to the feelings and dilemmas of life. I would love for people to reflect about life through my work; of course, in a positive way.
