Paul Saucier

Paul Saucier’s oil on canvas works are a study of universal experiential realities. Inspired by the sublime terrain of his current local, a picturesque mountain region of Canada, Saucier’s creative process involves drawing energetically from his environment. Swooping animal forms meet swirling, sweeping formations of richly layered oil in these dreamlike and magical tableaux. Paul Saucier was born 1958 in Canada’s national capital of Ottawa. Among his most important influences he counts his teachers Jacques Hurtubise, Kenneth Lochhead and Charles Gagnon, as well as his father, a practicing architect.
