Press Release
With innovation and sensitivity, artist Nadra Jacob conveys passion through color and form on her canvases. Nadra says, "Without passion there is no art," and her own work is a testament to this belief. Drawing inspiration from the Fauvists, Matisse particularly, Nadra captures the dramatic qualities of color and uses color as an organizing principle in her compositions. Nadra defies simple definition, however, as her paintings show a range of style and emotional intensity—from canvases that show a clear relationship to Fauvism to work that edges towards Abstract Expressionism.
Nadra allows herself artistic freedom and curiosity to explore the universe around her. She wishes to create work that lets her viewer "hear the sound of color." Nadra is a Chilean artist whose work has been exhibited throughout her native country.
