Melody Hawtin

English artist Melody Hawtin creates lush, vibrant impressionistic paintings that capture all of the beauty and glory to be found in nature’s landscapes and forms. Relying on a looseness of form and intensity of texture, Hawtin infuses her canvases with captivating color, movement, and light. The artist is inspired by her connection to Christ, which infuses her works with a sense of all the, richness, mystery and wonder there is to be found in the world.

In addition to her traditional oil on canvas works, Hawtin has experimented with a unique approach to painting, covering cut up canvases with 23ct gold and covering it all with paint straight from the tube. The result of this approach is expansive paintings full of light that are able to transport the viewer to an entirely new plane. Indeed, Hawtin’s greatest hope for her work is that it inspires her viewers with a strong sense of strength, hope, laughter, and love.
