Argentine artist María Susana Dos Santos paints transformative abstract expressionist works, going beyond the requirements of everyday reality to create a world without time, without limits, and with endless space. In canvases replete with intense colors and rich textures that transcend geometric lines and forms, she seeks to rediscover serendipitous moments in her work, those perfect spots where color and movement in space come together to create entirely new landscapes. Yet barely recognizable forms haunt the edges of her abstract images, creating dreamlike vistas that invite the viewer to look beyond what is seen. Santos calls her work “sensible abstraction,” where dynamic lighting, architectural sense, and the notion of movement are integrated, mutating and reforming to create entirely new worlds. In the end, Santos seeks to rediscover the secret of finding oneself through art and experience the magic of sensations that lies within, thereby awakening the senses of all who come into contact with her work.
María Susana Dos Santos currently lives and works in Sierra de la Ventana, near Buenos Aires.
