Press Release
LUX PALLAS’ energetic, abstracted paintings explore life’s interrelatedness. Their uninhibited, bright palette evokes playful lightheartedness, making even the unpredictability of human existence seem buoyant. The loosely painted shapes that float on the surface of the paintings seem at once both cosmic and accessible, like meteorites that shoot out of the local public park instead of falling out of the sky. Pallas’ compositions are minimal, despite their ungoverned dynamism. Each shape has room to breath and Pallas leaves ample negative space, a decision that gives the paintings a narrative quality. The figures and gestures that interact on the surface of the canvas seem to be telling unfixed stories about all the ways in which daily life transpires.
As an artist, Pallas is interested in how art-making can be a route to truth. Her paintings are raw, candid expressions of her own experiences and thoughts. An Italian citizen, she lives and works in Florida.
