Get whisked away to an alpine castle, or come face to face with desert nomads, and you know that you are entering the captivating world of French painter InDy (Didier Bovard), an artist who feels the love of adventure and the natural world in each stroke of the brush. InDy’s painting displays a strong sense for color and composition but his true talent lies in visualizing exotic locales and transporting his audience so that they feel they can truly “be there.” His brushwork infuses a unique energy into each piece, as directional strokes lead the eye around the composition while adding an aged, craquelure surface appearance. He explains that the goal of his art is “To pass on to people an intense emotion,” and indeed he does. InDy’s painterly, impressionist approach provides the viewer with distinctive, yet personal sensations, the passionate warmth of a tropical beach or the brisk air lapping at trees of a mountain chateau. These are delightful, imaginative, and accessible works.
InDy lives and works in Thonon-les-Bains.
