Gio

Italian artist Gio abstractly represents nature in all its force and beauty.  In his paintings, the disposition of each color is sensitively determined, and they work together to form a viscerally felt mood. His mysterious forms reflect an interest in Nordic Runes and Rosicrucian symbols.  Having achieved an original, personal style, Gio is studious of the history of abstract painting.  Drawing inspiration as much from Action Painting as Op Art, his radiant, individual sensibility shines through his dazzling brushstrokes.

Gio investigates color’s potential to probe and heal the viewer’s psyche.  Goethe and Rudolf Steiner have proved very influential to his thinking.  Intellectually curious across multiple disciplines, Gio invites complex, varied interpretations.  Also an accomplished drummer, he credits music’s influence in the creation of his work.  He generally paints with oils on canvas, but has experimented over time with various media.  Through canvases that vibrate with frenetic multicolored forms, Gio communicates a willingness for fantastic events to occur in our lives.
