Ford Weisberg’s digital abstract paintings explore the subconscious as subject matter and push the tenets of traditional image making. In these dramas of the subconscious, the images are imaginary, organically-inspired entities that reside in abstract space. Their iridescence coupled with highly saturated color creates an aesthetic that is often unachievable by more conventional painting methods. Exploiting his creative environment, the artist commands shape and space to produce surrealistic forms. Weisberg’s interactions with the surface of his works are non-traditional, addressing the picture plane in a digital environment. A rich background in classical music offers him a perspective on the abstract elements of art construction that is not typically found within the community of art school graduates. A new-comer to the practice of the visual arts, Ford Weisberg’s works are proof positive that it can be refreshing to have an outsider pick up where others have neglected to explore.
Ford Weisberg currently lives and works in Westchester County, NY
