Press Release
Eva Antonini’s sculptural portrayal of the female body personifies the fragility and sensuality of womankind. The fluidity of her subjects is compelling and their personal strength resonates. The delicate curvatures of the body capture the romantic movement, subtly calling the viewer to come a little closer. It is only fitting that Antonini chooses to create through the sculptural medium. Her craft stands alone, solid and resilient, instead of being joined or hidden by other images on a canvas. Her work does not need a limiting space or frame to contain its emotion. Before her creative exploration, Antonini worked as a freelance translator, frequently traveling to many different countries. In the year 2002, she was “reborn” as a sculptor. Her experience with many cultures has allowed her to embody an array of culturally diverse female emotions. Antonini has described her sculpting as a meditative process that leads itself; a source from within and a higher divine power guiding her molding hands.
