French photographer Dominique Braud is a conscious observer and devotee of all things wild. Dominique Braud has built a photographic practice around capturing the terrain of the African jungle since her first trip to Kenya ten years ago. Jungle vegetation, animal skins and precipitation are governing motifs in her work, while the artist truly soars in her use of texture and the dynamic expression of light and shadow. Coupled with a determination to preserve nature – particularly sections of wildlife in the Southern and Eastern regions of Africa - the work presents the here and now of the jungle with the aim of raising awareness about land erosion and endangered animal species. What Dominique Braud captures in an instant she multiplies exponentially through art. Ultimately, she shares the gift of nature and urges others to adopt a similar attitude of reverence and respect.
Dominique Braud was born in France, where she currently lives and works. She has worked as a corporate lawyer for more than 20 years, meanwhile building a professional practice in photography. Her limited edition high velocity photographic prints are mounted on Dibond aluminum composite.
