Press Release
Internationally acclaimed photographer, Dmitry Chetverukhin, was born in St. Petersburg, Russia. Captivated with everything around him from a very young age, Chetverukhin’s attitude of fervent interest eventually led him into the field of photography, as a means to creatively explore the people and places that he encountered. Working primarily in black and white, Chetverukhin has spent years perfecting his technique, and the art world has responded with exuberant applause. With clients such as the world famous Mariinski and Bolshoi Theatres, in addition to international publishers and leading fashion designers, Chetverukhin’s photography is considered to be a pillar of excellence. His work instills a sense of calm and focus, as if everything else had faded into obscurity but his subject. The people of music and theater are recurring themes in his work and they are always swathed in dramatic undertones and fabulous gradations of light and shadow. As he himself explains, “Fine art photography is not just a moment captured in time or a static presentation of people and objects. Rather it is real images able to interact with their viewers, telling them of their unique stories.”
