Chris Dei

Tripping the Light Fantastic: The Fine Art Photography Exhibition
March 16 - April 6, 2007 Reception: Thursday March 22, 2007 6-8 PM

Press Release

A pack of zebras running at full speed, exotic birds perched solemnly on the branches of a dead tree, these are the muses of award-winning photographer Chris Dei. The inhabitants found in the far-reaches of the globe are what she searches to capture, and she does so with craftsmanship and an adept eye for composition. She has traveled extensively throughout Europe, the Middle East, South America and Africa. Her wildlife photography has been exhibited throughout the United States and parts of Europe. Recently, she photographed in Kenya and Tanzania, a land that affected her both personally and artistically and has afforded her international recognition. Not confined to the wildlife genre, Dei has also won commissions for her portraiture, and has also worked on major digital projects for such noteworthy clients as Carnegie Hall and the JFK Center for Performing Arts. When she is not traveling the globe, Dei lives in West Nyack and works in Manhattan.
