Illuminated neon tones radiate throughout the works of Spanish-German multidisciplinary artist Andreas Strobel. Working with found objects, including recycled debris which he skillfully repurposes into poignant, colorful pieces, Strobel reincarnates the discarded or the unwanted into objects of graceful, evocative beauty. Through these pieces, the artist finds artful eloquence in even the most mundane and common of items or moments, reminding us of the inherent splendor to be found in the prosaic and predictable. Expression in art is innate to Strobel’s being; be it through found object assemblages or drawing and photography, he yearns to comprehend human existence. Articulating the myriad thoughts and emotions that stream through his mind, he extracts and abstracts the significance in the order, chaos, transcendence and passion of human life. “My relationship with art comes from the need to express and research into the thoughts and emotions that go through my mind,” says Strobel. “Only in the process of creation does my mind get some peace, when everything seems to match.”
Born in Madrid, Andreas Strobel lives and works in Spain.
