Agora Gallery in Chelsea, New York represents talented and accomplished national and international contemporary artists.

Whether self-taught or educated in art colleges and having participated in numerous juried art contests, art exhibitions and art shows, qualities of technique and artistic expression have placed these fine artists among the most acclaimed and rewarded on the international art scene.

The artists represented by Agora Gallery retain a sense of individuality and innovation that has gained praise from recognized art experts and distinguished curators of contemporary art. Their accomplishments characterize their level of professionalism and uniqueness.

Malu - Canada

Malu won the province of Quebec's first prize for Abstract Art in 2010.

Rudelle ("Rudelle Fay Hall") - United States

Two of Rudelle's artworks were accepted in Rehoboth Art League's 3rd Regional Juried Show.
Three works accepted in 2010 Delmarva Regional Juried Show, Art Institute and Gallery, Salisbury, Maryland.
Acceptance in the 19th Annual National Juried Exhibition at the Art Institute & Gallery in Salisbury, Maryland. 2010.
Four works accepted in the Juried 2010 Visual Fringe Wilmington Festival, Wilmington, Delaware.
Second Place in Millsboro Art League, Spring Juried Show, Millsboro, Delaware 2010.

In the past seven years Rudelle has won over 110 awards in California, Delaware, and Maryland.

Shifra - Israel

Shifra won third place for her work Colorful Neglect in the Infinity digital art competition.  Her work also received honorable mention in The Worldwide Photography Gala Awards Black & White Competition.

Tanya - Latvia

Tanya has been one of the finalists of the 5th Edition of the Grifoni Prize.

Adriana Cora - Argentina

Adriana Cora is member of the gallery Pabellon 4 Arte Contemporaneo. The gallery is from Buenos Aires, Argentina.  She was selected with a group of artists, to represent  Pabellon 4 in SWAB International Contemporary Art Fair  in Barcelona, Spain,  May 2010.

Alison-Jane Rice - Australia

Alison Jane Rice of Botanical Theatre is the winner of the 2011 Blue Mountains Business Awards for Excellence in the Entertainment & Arts category.

Amanda Dunbar - United States

Amanda Dunbar was honored by the Southern Methodist University Alumni board with a Distinguished Alumni Award for Emerging Leadership.  The award was established to recognize extraordinary achievement,outstanding character and good citizenship.

Betsey Chesler - United States

Betsey Chesler is the founder of Cameras For Kids Foundation.  In the past, Betsey has volunteered at a number of Orphanages in South Africa, and that experience has allowed her to focus on the needs of children living without parents.  Worldwide there are 146 million children living in foster care and in the United States alone, there are currently over 500,000.

Cameras For Kids Foundation  is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of the abandoned children by exposing the teens to the process of creating art through a camera’s lens.  CFKF uses photography to capture participants imaginations, to empower them, build confidence, self-esteem and open a whole new world for them to visualize and create.

Bogdan Chiritoiu - Romania

Bogdan Chiritoiu got the second prize from Oxford Univesity Alumni and the second prize from Anglo-Italian Art Academy at the Italian Chianciano 2011 Bienal.

Cade Turner - Australia

Cade Turner's original work will be on display in an International Art Exhibit. Vivid Arts Network. "Earth Vortices". Ferrara, Italy. May 12-19, 2012


Cariappa Annaiah - United States

Copley Society of Art is the oldest private art organization in this country. Cariappa Annaiah was admitted via a juried process as an artist member in 2007. CoSo organizes periodic juried shows, the latest of which is called "Reflections". One of the jurors of this show was Karen Quinn, the Kristin and Roger Servison Curator of Paintings, Art of the Americas at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Cariappa Annaiah's entry, "Apple trio 2" was admitted to this group show and was also selected for the promotional post card advertising the show. "Apple trio 2" is part of the series, "Straight-angled-crossed-warped."

Carmen Egea - Spain

Carmen Egea was selected to participate in the Biennale 2011 of Chianciano in Tuscany (Italy) and was also awarded with one Honourable Mention for artistic merit.

Christopher Stone - Spain

Christopher Stone's Mr. Majestic is now a featured piece on SculptSite.com. 
Christopher Stone has two upcoming exhibitions:
  
"SOPHISTICATED EXUBERANCE" opening May 28th at Lady Audrey's Gallery, West Cornwall, Connecticut. In August his sculptures will be on view at the Forge Gallery, West Sussex, UK.

Davyd Whaley - United States

Davyd  Whaley's artwork “Anima”  was awarded an honorable mention in the MC Gallery Art Contest.

Doug Simon - United States

Doug Simon has been voted to be Director of a co-op plein air gallery in Benicia California. With 15 plein-air painters the gallery has been very well received by the supportive community of Benicia.

Elise Francesca Fargnoli - United States

Elise Fargnoli is launching two new clothing and home décor lines. FRANCESCA JOY (home decor/clothing/accessories) based in Palm Beach, FL.

Glenn deWitt - United States

atGlenn DeWitt's abstract painting,  Untitled (Septembe2011) received first prize in the Worldwide Photography Gala Pollux award, 2011

Igor Eugen Prokop - Hungary

Igor Eugen Prokop was winner in the category "drawing" in the 2011 Chianciano Biennale.

Jennifer Pinder - Qatar

Jennifer Pinder took part in the Trevisan International Art and the Liberated Dream exhibition.

Jim Lively - United States

Jim Lively's book of photographs from his art installation.."Burnt Orange", is now available on Amazon. The Dallas Debut of "Burnt Orange", Book Launch and Video Installation, begins September 30th, Dallas, Texas.

Jo Tunmer - United Kingdom

Jo Tumner is currently working with a prestigious interior designer furnishing exclusive UK residencies with her art work.  She is also managing a private 'sealed bid' auction with other artists to raise funds for The National Autistic Society in the UK.

John Nieman - United States

John Nieman was awarded an online solo exhibition at Whistle Stop Gallery in Granite City, Illinois as a result of winning best of show in  their juried show.  In addition, Nieman has been included in five different national  and international  juried shows; Art Connections 6 at George Segal Gallery in Montclair, NJ,   24th International Juried Show at  the Visual Art  Center of NJ,   LaGrange National XXVI at LaGrange Art Museum in  Georgia, The Retreat at  Richard J. DeMato Gallery in  Sag Harbor, NY, Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts 99th Annual  Exhibition at the Mystic Art Center, CT.  Nieman also participated in a group show  at the New Art Center in Manhattan.Nieman and will have a solo show in the City of Las Vegas in the Summer of 2010.

Katrin Alvarez - Germany

Katrin Alvarez´s artwork was selected to be exhibited in the "Phantasten Museum" in Vienna.

Laura Flynn Geissel - United States

Her abstract piece, "Starvation" (gouache and pastel) was accepted by the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, DC for an exhibit that runs in July 2010 called "Sensory Overload".

Marialuisa Sabato - Italy

Her paintings are listed in the 11th edition of the International Catalogue of Modern Art - MDS.

Marianne Fernandez - United States

Marianne Fernandez is involved with: SNR (Specialized Needs Recreation) a non-profit organization providing recreational opportunities for people with disabilities. Most recently she prepared the scenery and props for thier annual talent show.

Michael Berger - Switzerland

Michael Berger has been invited to participate in the Biennale de la figuration à Entressen".

Mike Cable - United States

Mike Cable´s work was selected for the final round in the PX3 France Photo Competition. He  also received three nominations in this years Black and White Spider Awards in three seperate categories
to include Still Life, Abstract and Wildlife.

Monica Morganti - Italy

Monica Morganti artworks have been on display at the Triennial of Rome, an International Exhibition of Visual Arts.

MOO | Monika Mori - Austria

MOO | Monika Mori's  work "Homage to Cy Twornbly"  was selected by The Leopold Museum  in a recent watercolor competition, Masters of Tomorrow. Her work will be included in the competition exhibition  scheduled to run from May 25, 2010 to June 28, 2010

Paola Guerra - Italy

Paola Guerra received a plaque for artistic merit  in Medusa Aurea XXXIII ed. sponsored by the International Academy of Modern Art of Rome. 
 
 

Pari Ravan - France

Pari Ravan traveled to Northern Germany to install a large fresco in tiles (on the subject of the Saint Don) for the Salesian monastery. Her work was well received by the clergymen.

Pari Ravan received the Toile d'Or" by the Fédération Nationale de la Culture Française as well as the "Grande Médaille d'Or" of Cannes city. The city of Nice gave her a personal exhibition in Parc Phoenix under the patronage Mr. Estrosi who is the mayor of Nice as well as the minister for industry in France. The exhibition was broadcasted by the french TV. A sculpture of her was selected to be permanently shown for one year in the Parc Phoenix.

Pat Fairhead - Canada

 Pat Fairhead was awarded the prestigious A.J. Casson medal by the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour at the 86th Annual Open Water Exhibit at the the Aird Gallery, Toronto for her painting “Water Circus”(pictured left). “The Medal is presented to the creator of the best painting in the juried exhibition and is to be considered the highest accolade bestowed by the Society for artistic creativity.”

Patricia Brintle - United States

Patricia Brintle's artwork: LAST BREATH  was selected as the cover for the recently published  "Christianity and Human rights" from Cambridge Press.  VOILIERS AU PORT A BAINET  appears on the cover of the Spring issue of "Sea History" the magazine of the National Maritime Historical Society. In addition, she is involved in a project to repair places of worship in Haiti  through the FROM HERE TO HAITI, ltd. not-for-profit corporation and is working closely with Haitian artist in the provinces to help them find openings to sell their works through the internet in the US thereby become self-sufficient through their art.

Rania Mesiskli - United States

Rania Mesiskli artwork “Acquired Tastes” appeared on the cover of the Bergen County Hi Class magazine, January February 2010 issue.

Ren Seffer - Cayman Islands

Renate Seffer is preparing for two group exhibitions, one solo exhibition in April and the National Gallery has invited her and three other artists to do a two week residency / solo exhibit at their gallery in May which will run for six weeks.

Robyn Hills - Australia

Robyn Hills was one of the finalists of the prestigious Australian Head On Portrait Prize.

Rory D.L. Moorer - United States

Rory Moorer recently held a month long solo exhibition at a new art gallery he founded with his wife Samantha called the Gallore Gallery which opened in February 2011.

Sandra Schawalder - Switzerland

Received the , Certificate of Excellence 2009 from Art Domain a widely esteemed venue for international fine art in the art metropolis Leipzig, In additions she was invited to present her steel work at the Art International Zurich 2009

Sibylle Pieters - Cyprus

Sibylle will be exhibiting her work in two wildlife exhibitions in England in July and August: MIWAS (Marwell International Wildlife Art Society) and NEWA(National Exhibition Of Wildlife Art).  
In addition, she will be participating in October to the "Open Studio" which is to open her workshop to the public(tourism industry) one weekend in October. The "Open Studio"  is in collaboration with sponsors and the Cyprus cultural department.

Steven R. Hill - United States

Steven R Hill's artwork was recently published in “Best of Worldwide Artists in Drawing, Pastel and Charcoal” by Kennedy Publications.  "Harbor in Evening” painted en plein air in Lumbarda, Croatia, is one of three images of his work selected for this book.

Steven R. Hill´s work "Resting Under Evening Skies" won "Best of Show" at The Northwest Pastel Society's  24th Annual International Juried Exhibit in Tacoma, Washington.

Aaron Lacey - Canada

His work "Omega" has been acquired by the NYPD. Lacey donated a signed custom framed print of "OMEGA" the print raised $15,000.00 for a Cancer Hospice. His work "Patriots" is in the collection of the PRO Football Hall of Fame Canton,Ohio.

Albert Barcilon - USA

To help a young girl fight her battle against cancer; artist Albert Barcilon and his wife Michelle set up the “Andrea Rodriguez Cancer Fund”. In addition, Albert organized a fundraising effort at an art auction, held at Lori Salisbury Gallery in Nederland on June 20. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Andrea’s fund.

Anne T. Manley - USA

Currently working on two shows. One at the Grand Cru, in Baltimore, MD from July 1 - 31, 2009 and one at PlanB Gallery, Washington, DC from January 6- February 7, 2010

Bjorn Wefring - Norway

Bjorn's work "Productions" was recently acquired by the Coast Culture Museums in Norway. He work will also be on display in an exhibition on June 16th in Western Norway. Sonja The Queen of Norway will open the exhibition . Bjorn is given the mission guiding Her Majesty and show her the exhibition.

Cariappa Annaiah - USA

Traces of Memory International Art Exhibition presented by Trevisan International Art, Ferrara, Italy (November 2008). He also received three honorable mentions in the Fine Art section of the International Photo Awards 2008 competition sponsored by Pilsner Urquell. The entire competition attracted 22,000 entries from 124 countries. The three series were, "Fogged glass", "Metal" and "Chives" under "Droopy and Erect".

D. Loren Champlain - France

D. Loren Champlin's work will appear in juried 2nd art edition 'International Contemporary Masters 2009' . Editor/Curator Despina Tunberg. This book is scheduled to be published later on this year.

Igor Eugene Prokop - Hungary

Selected artist in the Chianciano Biennale of Contemporary Art 2009

Iva Milanova - Germany

Now a member of the societe des artistes independants in Paris, France.

Jacquelyn Bond - USA

Her image was selected by the Innovators Combating Substance Abuse Program at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. The painting was chosen to be published in the 2008 Art and Addiction book and was also shown in two Art and Addiction Exhibitions, the first one being held at the headquarters for substance abuse and mental health services in Rockville, MD in May 08. the second exhibition in San Juan, Puerto Rico was held in conjunction with the annual meeting of the college on problems of drug dependence in June 08.

Jane Batalden Palmer - USA

Jane Batalden Palmer recently became a signature member of the Florida Watercolor Society.

Kristina Zallinger - USA

Artist Kristina Zallinger of Hamden, Connecticut recently received five Special Recognition Merit Awards for artwork in the "9th Annual Summer All Media Online International Art Exhibition” hosted by Upstream People Gallery. This international exhibition received approximately 250 entries from around the world and 45 artists were selected by the juror Larry Bradshaw, Professor of Art at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, U. S. A.

Leni Kae - Australia

Australian artist and trained colour therapist Leni Kae has been invited by the internal committee to represent Australian contemporary art at the upcoming international Florence Biennale 09.

Marvin Hines - USA

Marvin Hines will be donating his work ‘Split Shot Experiment’ to the Dallas Cowboys for a special event and auction. The event will raise funds for the young coach Rich Behm and his family.Rich Behm was paralyzed this past May in the collapse of the Cowboy's Irving training facility.

Matty Karp - Israel

Received two "Honorable Mentions" for photos submitted to "The 2008 International Photography Awards." The two photos selected appear in Art-Mine."Autumn II" is "Folliage 2006" and "Mist".

Mustafa Gunen - Turkey

His work "Caught in a Gale", oil on canvas,43 x 80 in. (109.2 x 203.2.cm.) recently sold at Christie's.

Offer Goldfarb - Israel

Received an excellence award from Black and White magazine for collectors of fine photography. Out of 1270 portfolios from over the world they selected 15. Each of the selected artists will receive an article in issue (#68) of B&W Magazine - due out in June 2009

Oleda Baker - USA

The Museum of Florida Art, DeLand, Fl, will be exhibiting Oleda's paintings in their Chris Harris Collection Gallery. Dates are June 12 through August 24, 2009.

Pari Ravan - France

Was recently awarded the prize for art plastic at the Grand Prix International d'Arts Plastiques Nice. There were 300 parcipitating artists out of 32 countries.

Rahbek - Denmark

Rahbek relishes the opportunity to promote change through art and recently donated a painting to “A Race against Breast Cancer.”

Ricardo Lowenberg - Mexico

Article in “Chic Magazine” from Oct.5, 2008 on Ricardo Lowenberg, Masters of the Imagination: Latin America Fine Art Exhibition, Agora Gallery.

Ron Powell - REAP 13 - USA

Ron EA Powell's paintng - Escape - long to bleed, is the cover winner for Art Creation Magazine. In addition, The self-portrait publication titled Dimensions of Disclosure has been published. REAP13's JOHN 9:13 is featured on a full page layout in this book

Vanessa Chakour - USA

Artist, athlete, activist Vanessa Chakour, recently spoke at the United Nations Youth Assembly as an ambassador for Right to Play, an organization which uses sport and play as a vehicle to bring peace and joy into the lives of some of the most disadvantaged children in over 20 countries around the world. Vanessa, formerly a professional boxer, is among a select group of professional and Olympic athletes who support the wonderful work of Right to Play.
