Polixeni Papapetrou
...
|
| Polixeni Papapetrou is a photo-based artist who explores issues of identity and performance in her work. Her photography has ranged from subcultural archetypes, body, gender and fashion; and in more recent years she has explored the representation of childhood identity. Papapetrou has photographed her children, sometimes with their friends, often echoing images and stories created by Charles Dodgson (aka Lewis Carroll).
In such projects, her work has moved to high-key theatrical dioramas, absorbing aspects of painting within photography as well as performance.
