Loretta Bagnoli

Working in mixed media, Loretta Bagnoli offers viewers a critical reflection on the artistic heritage of the past. Through her recovery of symbols, motifs and myths from ancient history, Bagnoli’s work unearths the elements of past civilizations that remain intriguingly present in today’s society. Maintaining a delicate balance between textures, tones, shapes and styles throughout her oeuvre, the artist infuses her work with a range of emotions, representing the consistent variability of human nature and reality that has endured throughout time. Having worked for many years in painting restoration, Bagnoli’s technique is inspired by the materials, colors and methods employed by artists across the art historical canon. Loretta Bagnoli was born in Forlì, Italy, where she lives and works today. She studied arts in Florence, qualified in Preservation of Artistic Heritage in Bologna and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Ravenna.
