The work of Yaron Ari entices audiences with a unique style that captures elements of the natural world with rich, creamy brushwork that often contain hints of cubism and surrealism. Ari’s paintings are nearly plastic in appearance, as rugged landscapes unfold and transform like ripples in the water. There are spiritual underpinnings to Ari’s work; in each piece there is always the impression that there is much more going on than meets the eye. “In art the sky is only the key to more worlds,” he states, “I believe that everything comes first from God and we are like messengers.”
Born in Tiberius, Israel, Ari spent much of his youth near the water with his father, who was a fisherman. During his college years he supported himself by becoming a chef, and since moving to New York in 2000, he continues to advance his expertise in both painting and cuisine.
