Tiziana Pantaleoni uses her paintings as a vehicle for philosophical discourse. The whirling, forceful lines and brazen colors speak of the individual’s quest to come to terms with the inner turmoil of the psyche. Correspondingly, her works range from playful to ominous in mood, employing the expressive possibilities of line to capture the sound-like reverberations of the soul. Born in Rome, Pantaleoni developed an immense interest in the philosophy of C.G. Jung and his theories on the archetypal figure and its application in social roles. Though she began her artistic career as a portrait artist, she turned to Abstract Expressionism because of the instinctual nature of the style and its emotive qualities. “My artwork originates from philosophical need to explore psyche’s most deep essence which…belongs to all humanity and eludes space-time laws.” Pantaleoni has exhibited frequently around Rome, and recently in New York. She lives and works in Rome.
