Peter Bulow

The sculptures of Peter Bulow provide a surreal exploration of human experience – birth, ageing, death, the struggle to understand oneself and in turn to be understood – these expressions manifesting in etiolated figures and animals.  Bulow works in plaster and bronze, recently moving to stone-carving.  There is an element of the gothic macabre to the sculptures, and one feels they are the bearers of many narrative strains, much like those that run deep through Bulow’s family.

Peter Bulow lives and works as a clinical research psychiatrist in New York.
