Pari Ravan

Pari RavanPari Ravan

There is a surreal stillness in Pari Ravan’s paintings engendered by vivid skies reaching over endless panoramas. This sweeping, dreamlike quality allows our eyes to wander as this boundless space becomes a catalyst for personal reflection. Born in Iran, Ravan has a deep relationship with nature which she captures using oil painting techniques of the old masters in a style named "Romantic Surrealism". The artist regularly presents a variety of idyllic landscapes replete with delicate plants and flowers, birds, wispy clouds, crystalline coastlines and sand dunes. Other works probe even deeper into Surrealism, portraying extraordinary moments orchestrated with evocative symbols and languages flowing across the image. Titles may provide a glimpse into the story behind a piece, yet the final interpretation is left to the audience. "The unmistakable meaning slowly starts to unravel, since in my paintings none of the tales are really told to the end."

Ravan exhibits frequently and her works are held in public and private collections throughout Europe. She lives in the Côte d’Azur, France.

Pari Ravan has received two awards; the Toile d'Or" by the Fédération Nationale de la Culture Française and the "Grande Médaille d'Or" of Cannes city.
