Miklos Sipos

Painter Miklos Sipos uses color and texture to elicit emotion. Mirrored through the artist’s vision, the viewer is taken into an ever-changing world where shape and form become amorphous, fluid, like clouds in movement. “Each painting is an experiment in form and technique,” says Sipos, “an evolution in method and materials that reduces the complexity of nature into basic forms of color and texture, creating a personal experience between the viewer and the image”. The nebulous surfaces of the canvases are thus perceived as reality, for the way each individual views their surroundings is rooted in previous encounters with the natural world. Sipos uses a medium of acrylic mixed with sand to give voice to his vision. His color palette is composed of rich, earthy tones of oranges and yellows or alternatively celestial blues and purples with a sense of light infusing the canvas. The images have no names because, in the words of the artist “to name an image is to diminish the experience by depriving the viewer of the full range of emotional awareness.” Miklos Sipos lives and works in Frenchtown, New Jersey.
