Drawing visual inspiration from Surrealist and Abstract painting, Melissa Norenberg’s mixed media and acrylic works shimmer with the enthusiastic spirit of a dedicated artist. Norenberg possesses an incredible emotional and technical depth: her paintings range from humorous and light hearted to quiet and introspective, and comfortably tackle both representational and non-objective subjects. Gracefully, Norenberg harnesses the emotive power of color, texture and gesture to create intriguing Surrealist scenes and elegant images of total abstraction. Perhaps most impressive, Norenberg’s paintings have the incredible ability to transport the mind. Resting the eye on Norenberg’s expertly applied pigments, following the gentle curves and exciting movements of her brushstrokes, the viewer becomes completely immersed in her artwork. The world fades away and the rest is simply art.

A self taught artist, Melissa Norenberg has enjoyed considerable success as a gallerist and painter. She is an avid student of Surrealism and Abstraction and has exhibited her work throughout her native Wisconsin and in New York.
