JBuza

Jenny BuzaJenny Buza
An explorer of both her craft and her creative dynamic, painter JBuza is committed to her own artistic evolution. Buza's work varies from figuratives of arduous struggle to abstracts exploring color and light through expansive brush strokes. The figuratives are darker in color as well as mood. Her subjects in "Farmers" are receptacles for intense color combinations as they claw at the earth, while those in "The Game" emerge from shadows and wrestle, in tight brushstrokes, within fields of twisted angles and thick borders. While there is a silent intensity in her paintings that demands a narrative response, her abstract work rises to an unburdened melding of emotion and creative impulse. The canvases vary from tranquil jade oil paints to cool blue textured with gold, bronze and mica. JBuza's artistic evolution is not linear, but holistic: Her abstracts explore the relationship between color and light, just as her figurative works display personal struggle and experiments in composition. Whatever she is painting, she is committed, as she says, to "the conflict between texture and color as it interrelates to light." JBuza is a Polish American who lives in New York state, where she has studied painting, printmaking and graphic design.
