Horacio Dowbley

Horacio DowbleyHoracio Dowbley

The gripping novelty and aesthetic power of Horacio Dowbley’s sculptures comes both from extensive artistic training and nearly 20 years working as a professional architect. The geometric space and process of discovery conveyed in his artworks highlight each piece’s elaborate and perfect craft. The Argentine artist incorporates found objects, recycled elements and construction materials. The resulting pieces – slick, quizzical and clean, or rough-hewn and practically violent – uncannily combine Dadaesque or Magritte-like humor and Abstract Expressionist intensity. He catches our eye with visual swagger and captivates our mind with bold, irresistible statements.
