Gayl SharabiGayl Sharabi

Long captivated by the realms of art and science, mixed media artist Gayl Sharabi links them together with her fascinating series of paintings that examine the repetition and formation of infrastructures. Working with a variety of traditional and non-traditional mediums, Sharabi’s elegantly abstracted paintings, which recall both botanical and cellular imagery, provide a deep look into the structures of cells, recognizing the beautiful patterns that naturally form and coalesce to negate the presence of boundaries. Richly tactile surfaces resonate with a serene and organic color palette, while a dance-like movement injects the works with an undeniable vitality. Imbued with an inherent peacefulness, Sharabi’s works put forth an artistic vision of life at its most basic state. The concepts of micro and macro disappear, dimensions intermingle and all that remains is the perception of the present.

Born in the United States, Gayl Sharabi lives and works in Israel and holds a Master’s of Science in Microbiology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
