Cassie Clements

Cassie Clements work questions our relationship to the natural world and our perception of it. Her paintings, crafted with characteristic clarity, are a distinctive hybrid bridging the gap between landscape and still life by capturing natural perspectives and bringing them into indoor spaces. Dramatic foreshortening seizes our attention, channeling our eyes to explore seemingly disparate elements like books of art and world history lying agape amongst tapestries, dining ware, chairs and other studio items. Clements crafts her compositions to be “representative of both the tradition of still life and the essence of landscape.”
